Our annual residency programme offers great opportunities for artists of all disciplines to tap into the resources of Paris and the CCI, as well as being an important means of showcasing Ireland’s dynamic contemporary culture on an international stage. Since 2015, we have partnered numerous Irish cultural organisations so as to be able to appoint up to forty artist residents every year who form the heart of the Centre Culturel Irlandais’ creative community. Who can apply
Applicants must be Irish citizens or normally resident on the island of Ireland, with professional involvement in creative practice.


When to apply
The call for applications opens mid-November and the deadline is mid-January each year, for residencies running from September of the same year to June of the following year. Applicants will be notified of the outcome at the end of March. Our next call for applications runs from Thursday 14 November 2024 to Tuesday 14 January 2025, 5pm GMT.


How to apply

  • Applications by post or email cannot be accepted.
  • Please read the terms and conditions for CCI residencies and partner-supported residencies on our website.
  • A clear indication of the focus of the residency will be required together with a record of professional achievement: details of publications, exhibitions, performances, compositions, prizes, awards and related aspects of practice, as well as experience of other residencies.
  • Visual artists must have had at least one solo exhibition and writers one published work. Any familiarity with French culture and language should be indicated.
  • Please suggest how you might participate in CCI’s cultural programme ie. share your work with the public in the form of an open studio, short performance, reading, discussion…

Partnerships
We are delighted to be pursuing our partnerships with Irish cultural organisations to support the 2025/26 residency programme, all details below.

These residencies cover a wide range of artistic disciplines including music, literature, visual arts, theater, architecture, and socially-engaged art. They also involve partnerships with various cultural institutions, local government arts offices, and specialized organizations in Ireland.

CCI and the partner organisations share the costs of month-long residencies in CCI enabling the Centre to maintain the number of residencies it can offer. All applicants should fulfil the general criteria for CCI residencies as well as a number of more specific criteria. Applying for one of the partner-funded residencies does not exclude you from being considered for a general CCI residency in your chosen field:
